What is Rahu Yantra?

The Rahu Yantra is a sacred geometric diagram dedicated to Rahu, a shadow planet (Chhaya Graha) in Vedic astrology known for its unpredictable, illusionary, and intense energy. Unlike other planets, Rahu does not have a physical form — it represents desires, ambition, obsession, sudden gains, and material illusions. When placed unfavourably in a birth chart, Rahu can bring confusion, unexpected setbacks, addictions, or hidden enemies into a person's life.

This mantra should ideally be chanted 18,000 times as part of a complete Rahu mantra jaap, or a minimum of 108 times daily, preferably on Saturdays, which is considered auspicious for Rahu remedies.

Where to Place the Rahu Yantra?

• Direction – Place the yantra in the South-West direction of your home or worship area, as this direction is associated with Rahu's energy in Vastu Shastra.
• Pooja Room – The most common and recommended placement is in the pooja room, along with other deities, facing South-West while worshipping.
• Separate from Ketu-related Items – It is advisable to keep the Rahu Yantra placed thoughtfully, ideally guided by an astrologer, especially when other planetary yantras are also present.
• Height and Cleanliness – Always place the yantra at a respectable height, never on the floor, and keep the surrounding area clean and clutter-free.
• Avoid Negative Zones – Do not place the yantra in the bathroom, staircase, or storeroom, as these are considered unsuitable for spiritual items.
• Facing Direction During Worship – While chanting the mantra, face South-West for maximum spiritual benefit, and try to worship consistently every Saturday evening.
